This is the type of cutthroat being caught recently.The photo was taken like this because angler was alone.The P.R.O. purple leach was the fly the fish was released in good shape.

The Blog Is Back

Well we will be starting the Pro-Report in the Peak newspaper Feb24/2010.This blog will be an extention of that as well as photo's and up to date info on most things to do with Powell Rivers Outdoors.In The meantime here are a few updates.
- Get your pleasure craft licence here at P.R.O. it is manditory so dont delay and beat the rush.
-Sighn up for the upcoming firearms course March 7-8,there are a few spots open.
-New 2010 fishing licences should be in by the second week in March.Tidal/Hunting and fresh water.
-New rod and gun memberships available @P.R.O. $75.00 FAMILY,$65.00 Adult and $40.00 for seniors
Salmon Fishing
This has been one of the best winter fishing seasons i can remember.Basically if you head out you will return with some nice winter chinook Salmon.No shortage of crabs either.
Hot-Spots
Backside of Harwood,The Mill and Gibsons Beach.My friend John picked up a 21lb white spring south near scotch fir as-well
Gear
anchovies and hoochies seem to the top producers,while spoons come in third place.John picked up his Chinook on a baitbuster i still cant believe that thing catches but it does.
Depth
150-250' go deep....

Trout Fishing
The only thing better than the Salmon fishing in Powell River has been the trout fishing in the past couple Month.It has been great on many lakes.stay tuned for some photo's. Sam out...yopaf
