The rain and wind have finnally died down.Anglers Hunters and Outdoors enthusiast have told a few stories.
Fishing
Salmon fishing very steady at the backside of Harwood for feeder Chinooks. Most fish are beetween 7-12 lbs,set your rigger at 150' and you will catch fish. 3 1/2 inch PRO Wonderstripe Coyote spoon and the Black Magic Hooche will take care of business.
If its trout your after simply go to your favourite lake at this time of year and you will get action.Powell,Inland,Lois,Cranberry are just a few to put on your list.Pro flies and Crocs are a must cast away.
Hunters
Mainland Deer that have been taken have been mostly spikes and a couple two points.2010 is looking much better than last year with many deer showing up.Oct tenth the L.E.H Elk season will kick off so watch for some great stories.
Lang Creek
Still Coho and Chinook showing up with hundreds of Salmon in the Hatchery, with many Chinooks in the Thirtys and Even some over 50 lbs,the one that got away. Sam Out...

Whats Up!
Well thhis is the time of year we call transition,Hunting overlaping with fishing.
Fishing
We are still weighing in some nice Salmon from the Mill as well as Lang Bay,this should continue for a few more weeks.Tthe fish that came in yesterday were silver bright,it seems a new run has showed up.Fly fishermen have picking up Nice Coho at Lang Bay in the last few days and shore fishermen are doing the same with spinners and spoons.
Halibut
Another Halibut was caught in Powell River this time in front of the mill.it was in the forty's.This is the third Halibut of the Summer.
Hunting
It is the opening of rifle season today.I think hunters will fair well as there is plenty of deer around.I had three spikes in my yard yesterday and Bow hunters returning fom texada are seeing record numbers of deer.
Grizzly Bear
The Grizzly that was roaming around Powell Lake has been captured in a trap and i belive is being relocated via boat. The question is what drove the bear into town was it a larger Grizzly?I will post some photo's of some huge bear rubs on a tree that measured over Ten Feet at lewis lake ,stay tuned...
